DESTINATIONS
YANGON (Rangoon)
After the annexation
of the lower Myanmar by the British
in 1852, they turned this village into
a major port and started constructing
major buildings in 1870 with the well
known and magnificent structures still
standing in excellent condition in the
centre of the town. Yangon, in addition
to being the Capital of Myanmar situated
about 22 miles from the sea, is also
the main port of entry into the country
by sea and air. Yangon, with a combination
of the mystery and religious charm of
the east with the modern facilities
of the west, is one of the most attractive
cities in the East, with evergreen tropical
trees, shady parks, beautiful lakes
and golden Stupas .
BAGAN
Bagan is, one of the most amazing and
richest archeological sites in Asia
and a major tourist attraction site
of Myanmar as well, situated on the
eastern bank of the mighty Ayeyarwaddy
River and about 90 miles (145 km) southwest
of Mandalay and about 500 km north of
Yangon. Bagan covers an area of 42 sq.
km dotted with over 2000 (nearly 3000)
well preserved pagodas and temples of
the 11th – 13th century. Bagan was the
first imperial capital of ancient Myanmar
Empire founded by King Anawyahta (1044-77),
who introduced the Theravada Buddhism
in Myanmar.

MANDALAY
Mandalay, Myanmar's second largest City,
is located in Central Myanmar 668 kilometers
north of Yangon. It was built in 1857
by king Mindon and also stood as the
old royal capital of kings for centuries
before Mandalay. Having been the last
capital of Myanmar kings, Mandalay has
remained till the present time the centre
of Myanmar culture and traditional arts
and crafts. It is the place where the
Theravada Buddhist religion shines brightest,
with the largest number of Buddhist
monks studying Buddhist scriptures and
practicing the Buddhism.

INLAY LAKE (Inle)
Inle Lake is unique and magical lake
surrounded by the blue mountain ranges.
It is about 900 km above sea level,
20 km long and 10 km wide. Inle is famous
for the native lake dweller rowing their
boats with one leg, standing at the
stern of the boats. Visitors are sure
to enjoy the romantic and breathtaking
scenery called “Venice of Myanmar” by
tourists.

MRAUK U
About one hour 30 minutes by air from
Yangon to Sittwe. From there you can
take a boat ride taking about 3 hours
to Mrauk U. It was founded in A.D 1430
by king Min Saw Mon. Being an ancient
city of Rakhain Kingdom with several
architectural remains of its glorious
past, Mrauk U is on its way to becoming
one of the major archaeological and
historical sites in Myanmar.

NORTHERN PART OF MYANMAR (BURMA)
With the northern part of Myanmar geographically
sharing borders with China and India,
where the world's highest mountains
exist and being a part of Himalayas,
its hill geography results in a variety
of climate and vegetation ranging from
rain forests and alpine forest. The
highest elevations are covered with
snows and rocks.

SOUTHERN PART OF MYANMAR (BURMA)
Flanked by the Bay of Bengal, the southern
part of Myanmar offers magnificent scenery.
The beautiful , less visited, rugged
coast, the perfect climate and the relaxed
atmosphere make this southern part one
of the tourist destinations. It is easily
accessible by air, road and rail from
Yangon.

WESTERN PART OF MYANMAR ( BURMA
)
CHIN STATE
It, one of the ecotourism sites recently
growing in popularity in Myanmar, is
situated northwest of Mandalay. A seven-hour
drive from Bagan is Kanpatlat, one of
the hidden hill stations of
Victorian Era in beautiful
mountain setting with some bungalow-type
hotel at its summit. A two-hour drive
from Kanpatlat is 10- mile base camp,
a starting point for five hour trekking
excursion to the summit of Mt. Victoria
(3108 m). All of the Chin Villages and
town are in beautiful mountain setting.
