MAWLAMYING
About
300 Km from Yangon is the capital of
Mon State. It is easily accessible
by road and rail from Yangon. Among
the places of interest the main
attraction is kyaikkhami Pagoda
perched on the rocks by the sea.
Side
trip : About 34 Km
south of Mawlamying (Moulamein) is
Thanbyu Zayet, an Allied War
memorial Cemetery for the prisoners
of war who lost their lives during
the World War II in the construction
of the famous Death Railway across
the Thai-Myanmar border.
KAWTHAUNG
Kawthaung
is the Southern most Town of
Myanmar, formerly called Victoria
Point. There are regular air
services from Yangon. Being close to
the Thailand border, 20-minute boat
ride can be made to Kawthaung from
Ranong in Thailand. A short boat
trip from Kawthaung is Adaman Club
on the Thahtay Kyun Island which
provides the best tourist
attractions.
MYEIK
Myeik,
situated on the Thanithayi coast,
offers an ideal holiday climate. It
is about 249 km south of Yangon, 55
minute by air from Yangon. It is the
city of islands, known as Myeik
archipelago, the second largest city
in Taninthayi Division.

interesting for its gorgeous

Biological Park)
Lumpi
Island, an exotic island of Myeik
Archipelago, is designated as Lumpi
Marine Biological Park which
provides the best tourist
attractions with beautiful
sceneries, evergreen forests,
beaches, marine mammals and Salone
people called Sea gypsies skillful
in swimming, diving and fishing. So,
it is ideal for vacationing and
studying marine Biology.
